Myrica Jones is a contemporary artist who creates large-scale figurative, nature inspired, and animal artworks produced with ink. She uses a simple line in a single colour to create her complex and three-dimensional forms. Her striking figurative ink line drawings on paper are inspired by themes of constraint, strength, gravity, escape and hope. These are complemented by works exploring the strength and strangeness of nature and a series of animal works which convey the beauty and power of simple natural forms though texture and intensity of colour.

Based in the Cotswolds, Myrica recently returned to her passion of fine art after working as a decorative artist for over thirty years – with a background in gilding, paint effects and murals. Her work is a form of meditation for her, using repeated strokes to build up a sense of pressure and mass within the forms she depicts. It is an intense and very controlled process but one Myrica finds hugely therapeutic. All Myrica’s works are available as limited-edition giclée prints and can be produced at various sizes.
