Konk

Konk furniture is a multi-disciplinary design studio and workshop producing high-quality, sustainable, solid wood furniture that is built to last.

Konk was founded in 2015 by architect graduate Alex Ratcliffe (who instead of becoming an architect decided to design and make handcrafted furniture). Alex successfully pushes the boundaries of design, employing a dedicated team of skilled carpenters and metalworkers to hand make Konk’s innovative collection of industrial, modern rustic and organic styled furniture, in their Bristol workshops.

With a focus on sustainability, each piece of Konk furniture is created bespoke to ensure that no wood goes to waste and that the wood used stays in line with its natural elements. Timber is sourced from sustainable forests approved by The Forest Stewardship Council. To reduce deforestation and their environmental impact Konk has teamed up with non-profit environment charity One Tree Planted, where for every order received, they donate to plant a tree. ‘We don’t believe in a throwaway culture. Our furniture is made for life – it’s solid, hardwearing and ages with character.’ Alex Ratcliffe.

‘Sustainability means making pieces that last, using well sourced materials and giving back more than you take.’
