This unique piece has been made using oak burr. A burr is a tree growth in which the grain has grown in a deformed manner and is found in the form of a rounded growth on a tree trunk or branch that is filled with small knots from dormant buds. The burr is utilised here to design a piece that enhances the distinctive character of the wood. Suitable for displaying dried grasses and flowers it has been finished with wax.
