Staple Chair

The Staple Chair is a contemporary take on a traditional comb-back Windsor chair, re-designed to enhance the comfort as much as possible with a deeper shape to the seat and back.

Windsor chairs have their origins in the Chiltern Hills, were they would have been made in the woods from harvested timber. As such, the principal jointing method used is round turned components fitted into holes using traditional pole lathe and brace-and-bit tools. The Staple chair remains true to these origins, whilst adding modern detail such as the stainless steal staple that retain the rear stays against the back edge of the seat. The name is inspired by this fixing, as well as reflecting the chair’s intended role as a comfortable, satisfying and reliable everyday part of family life.

The Staple chair is made in ash and finished with matt Fiddes Hard Wax Oil.
