Patchwork Coffee Table
Chris Miller Design
Functional and stylish this unique coffee table is a celebration of the intrinsic linear ‘grain’ of plywood on edge. The intricate parquet pattern is formed by meticulously and precisely cutting birch plywood into individual blocks to make the component parts of the pattern. Individual blocks are then assembled by hand and glued together to form the final pattern, with larger sections of laminated plywood used for the legs. The parquet surface is shaped, polished and finished with natural oil to give a smooth and durable surface.

Chris Miller Design
Based in Liverpool, Chris Miller design was born out of a love of pattern, individuality and exceptional craftsmanship coupled with a desire to protect the environment. The result is an exciting creative solution which challenges our approach to waste materials whilst delivering an exquisitely produced piece of contemporary furniture.
Chris Miller’s collection of Parquet Tables cleverly reference traditional parquet surface design by using precisely cut blocks of scraps of waste birch plywood to reveal their intrinsic linear end grain. Blocks are individually assembled and glued by hand to form the intricate patterning of the tabletop, each piece is bespoke with pattern and colour dependent on the available waste materials. All wood is from FSC or PEFC timber merchants and pieces are finished with a blend of natural oil and wax to give a smooth durable surface.
